Abstract

215,593. Rowlands, J. H. May 29, 1923. Locking nuts.-A nut-locking device of the type in which the bolt has a reduced end oppositely threaded to the main thread, comprises two nuts 3, 4 which are locked together by a spring-pressed pin 5 contained in the outer nut 4, the pin engaging in one of a series of recesses 8 in the contacting face of the inner nut. The nuts can be disengaged by means of a toggle device 6. The outer nut 4 is recessed in the base to facilitate the engagement at varying positions on the bolt.
