Locking nuts.-A lock-nut of the type in which the base surface of the work is inclined to the axis of the bolt, has an elliptical hole which is only threaded about the minor axis. When the nut is screwed home the upper edge of the hole about the major axis is forced into engagement with the threads of the bolt.
