Nuts.-A nut and bolt for use in structural iron and steel work to resist shearing stress, comprises a bolt A having a regulated amount of thread for cooperation with a nut B which is recessed at C to allow the full sectional area of the bolt to be available for resisting shearing. The nut and bolt head may be square, hexagonal, &c. Specifications 16052/86 and 10813/92 are referred to.
