307,278. Dehn, F. B., (Brown Lock-Nut Co.). Sept. 7, 1928. Locking nuts. - A lock nut comprises a threaded nut B slotted near one end to form a ring portion C resiliently connected with the nut body B. The ring is formed with a lip G to engage the bolt thread and thereby exert a pressure on one side of the thread. The lip G may be formed' by bending over the thin end D of the ring portion so as to project over the bore of the ring which is enlarged to pass over the bolt I, or by leaving a crescent shaped portion of the screw thread when swaging away the thread in the ring portion C.
