Abstract

516,044. Locking nuts. CARTER, J. Sept. 2, 1938, No. 25765. [Class 89 (i)] A nut A has a recess C in its upper end this containing a member H of aluminium, lead or fibre, this member having on its outer surface a thread I of different pitch than and of opposite hand to the thread B in the main body of the nut. The bore in the member H may be plain, serrated or threaded with a pitch different from the thread B. The lower surface G of the recess C is conical, and the member H is retained in the recess by a flange E.
