Abstract

138,563. Muzzy, W. H. Sept. 6, 1919. Vacuum apparatus.-An inner float chamber 2 under suction has outwardly-opening valves 10, 9 to admit air and liquid fuel respectively, and a delivery pipe 20. The air inlet valve-stem carries a float 12 and a stop 11<a> by means of which a lever 11 acts to raise the valve 10. A cork float 13 carried by the lever 11 hold the valve 9 open until the level of the liquid reaches a certain height, when the valve 9 is closed and the valve 10 opened. The valve 9 is of greater area than the valve 10 and acts further from the fulcrum of the lever 11, so as to ensure the action described. A disk may replace the float 12.
