Direct air-pressure apparatus, automatic; valves for pressure fluid, actuation and arrangement of. - Apparatus for lifting liquid fuel for internal-combustion engines comprises a pressure tank 3 connected by a valved pipe 2 to the lowlevel fuel-tank 1 and by a valved pipe 13 to a balance chamber 12, which is connected to the receiving tank 18 by a pipe 17 and by a pipe 16 to the engine carburettor 15. As the, tank 3 fills, a float 22 rises and closes the atmospheric valve 10 and opens the compressed-air valve 9 carried by a lever 11, which is connected by links 27, 25 to the float arm 23. The arm 23 operates the link 25 when it engages a stop 29 thereon, and, during the descent of the float, the valves are not operated until a stop 28 on the, link 27 engages the lever 11. In another form, the lever 11 is provided with a snap-action spring. The tank 18 is connected to the tank 17 by an overflow pipe 19. Specification 128,260 is referred to.
