Abstract

1371161 Burner heads COMBSUTION ENG Inc 29 Dec 1971 [30 Dec 1970] 60437/71 Heading F4T An air supply diffuser for a liquid fuel fired burner having a liquid fuel gun 24 which provides a conical spray of fuel, comprises a member having a frusto-conical surface 28 mounted about the gun 24, the surface 28 having V- shaped slots 30 spaced around the periphery thereof and substantially square slots 36, 40 spaced on different radii around the gun 24, the slots each having a tab bent forwardly in the direction of the fuel spray to an angle of substantially 80 degrees out of the frusto-conical surface so as to direct air from each slot tangentially into the fuel spray. The air passes to the diffuser along an air sleeve 18 having swirl vanes 20.
