Abstract
1341262 Gas burners GAZ DE FRANCE 27 April 1971 [30 April 1970] 11504/71 Heading F4T A gas burner in which air and gas are mixed by induction and diffusion of air into a gas jet 8 (Fig. 1) comprises a casing 3 supplied with combustible gas and having a number of gas exit orifices 2 in an upper face which supports a distribution wall 4 inclined relative to the axes of the exit orifices by between 5 and 30 degrees, preferably 10 degrees, the distribution wall 4 terminating in a sharp edge 7 which is located substantially in the plane defined by the axes of the exit orifices 2 and borders a ledge 5 which extends on the same side of the axes of the exit orifices as the distribution wall 4, said ledge 5 subtending an acute angle with the distribution wall 4 and terminating in a wall 6 substantially perpendicular to the ledge 5 and parallel to the edge 7. In a number of alternative embodiments, the distribution wall 4 may be a solid member (e.g. Figs. 1 and 6) or sheet metal (e.g. Figs. 4 and 9) and straight (e.g. Fig. 9) or annular (e.g. Figs. 4 and 6). The upper edge of wall 6 may have a protruding flange (14, Figs. 5 and 10, not shown) to overlie part of ledge 5. In Fig. 6, a separately-supported distribution wall 4 on the internal face of a ring is disposed outwardly of the conical surface defined by the axes of the exit orifice 2. The lower end of the distribution wall 4 may be fixed on the casing 3 via an extension member such as legs 19c (Fig. 9). Preferred dimensional relationships are given, as shown graphically in Fig. 11.
