Abstract

134,141. Yarrow, H. E. Feb. 8, 1919. Water-circulation, apparatus for promoting.-One or more propellers are so arranged in the water drum of a boiler of the Yarrow or like type as to promote the upward circulation in the highly heated tubes and the downward circulation in the less heated tubes. The propeller D, Fig. 1, is arranged in the water drum B between the down-flow tubes G, which are screened from the heat of the furnace by a fre-brick wall H, and the generating tubes. In a modification, Fig. 3, propellers D<1>, D<2> are arranged in end compartments formed beneath the down-flow tubes by partitions N<1>. N<2>. The propellers may be mounted in a central longitudinal partition in a water drum.
