Cooling.-A system of water and steam tubes for protecting the walls of a steam boiler combustion chamber includes upright tubes leading to a steam separating collector, further heating surfaces supplementing the steam generated being connected to the cooling tube system which forms an independent boiler the water circulation being unaffected by the main boiler. Upright wallprotecting tubes C of the system B, C, lead to a collector D to which is also led a fresh water feed pipe E. Steam is led by a pipe F to the drum G of the main boiler or to another steam generator or consumer. In a modification in addition to the further heating elements B other surfaces I are connected to the collector. The water level in the cooling tube boiler may be maintained automatically from the main boiler or other feed water vessel.
