Water-circulation tubes in water space..-To promote the water circulation in a marine or like boiler, tubes E<1>, Fig. 1, open at both ends, are placed in the boiler so as to connect the upper and lower parts of the water space, the lower ends of the tubes being so formed that the water issuing from the tubes sweeps the steam bubbles from surfaces of the furnaces D. In a locomotive boiler, Fig. 2, a tube M<2> extends downwards from a trough K above the fire-box and enters the lower end of a cross water-tube O. A second tube M<1> extends downwards from the other side of the trough.
