Abstract

1331326 Cathode-ray tubes GTE SYLVANIA Inc 20 April 1971 [20 April 1970] 10213/71 Heading H1D In a multi-electrode C.R.T. electron gun comprising at least two longitudinal insulative rods to support the electrodes, there is provided at least one support stud which is embedded in one of the insulative rods and extends perpendicularly from the rod to an adjacent electrode lead to which it is fixed so as to strengthen the gun assembly. The support stud 41, Fig. 2, is preferably L-shaped with one leg embedded in the face of rod 25 and the other leg welded to a substantially vertical portion of an adjacent electrode lead 27<SP>1</SP>, preferably close to the wafer-type stem member 29 in which the electrode leads are sealed. In an alternative arrangement, (Fig. 5, not shown), the support stud is straight and is embedded in a side surface of support rod 25. In a further alternative (Fig. 6, not shown), an L-shaped support stud 41 is embedded in an end surface of support rod 25.
