1389420 Electron guns E S GEIZLER J V ROMANUK and L V TRAUBE 20 Oct 1972 48319/72 Heading H1D An electron gun comprises a cathode 2, a control electrode 3, an accelerating electrode 4, a focusing electrode 7 in the form of a wall coating which is preferably connected to a diaphragm 5 by four contacts 6, and a high voltage anode 8 in the form of a wall coating. The control electrode 3 is preferably connected to four contacts 6 which centre it in the tube, and its front part may comprise a flat diaphragm. In manufacture electrodes 3, 4 and 5 may be assembled together by means of insulators 10 with their leads 11 soldered to pins 12 extending through the base 13 which is then sealed in the neck 1 of the tube.
