Abstract

1,009,986. Cathode constructions. WELDING RESEARCH Inc. April 11, 1962 [May 23, 1961], No. 13936/62. Heading H1D. An electron emitting element comprises a strip of metal having a shape which provides a pair of spaced clamping portions 59 connected to a central flat area 61 by connecting portions 60 inclined to the clamping portions, the flat area and clamping portions being in planes at right angles to each other. The strip may be of tungsten or tantalum, and may be used in the electron gun described in Specification 1,009,987.
