Abstract
129,438. Forrester, H. J. C., (Burgess, H.). July 10, 1918. Two-part couplings.-A connecting-plug is secured to the core of a heating-element by bolts which serve also as electrical connexions. In the form shown, the resistance coil is in two sections which can be used separately or in series or in parallel to give different heating effects; the ends of the sections are connected to separate terminals 14, 15 and to a common terminal rod 29 which extends through the plug and has a split end engaging a central socket terminal 34. The threaded metal sleeve 17 has an inturned portion held by the bolt 12, and engages a threaded sleeve 20, which is connected by a bolt 26 to a socket terminal 27, while the head of the bolt 13 makes contact in any position with a ring 37 insulated from the bolt 26 and connected by a bolt 39 to a socket terminal 40.
