Abstract

1,249,510. Safety cap for bottles. UNITED GLASS Ltd. 4 Aug., 1970, [5 Aug., 1969], No. 39160/69. Heading B8T. In a safety cap for medicine bottles and the like a flexible outer cap 7 is freely rotatable on an inner screw cap 2 and is retained on it by annular lip 10. The cap can be unscrewed only by turning the outer cap 7 while its flexible top portion is depressed so that the ribs 8 on the underside engage the correspondingly shaped grooves 6 in the top of cap 2. The positions of ribs and grooves may be reversed and other forms of projections and corresponding depressions may be used.
