Abstract

The closure is made of plastic and is used for containers with a threaded neck. It has a screw cap (1), on which a covering cap (14) is mounted with axial clearance. Both caps have projections (7, 18) which can engage and disengage within the axial clearance. The flanks (9, 20) of the projections which meet when screwed on are designed as carriers and those (10, 21) which meet when unscrewed have a wedge effect. When it is screwed on, the screw cap is carried along by the covering cap but when it is unscrewed only with the application of an axial force. In order to prevent the covering cap from rattling on the screw cap, the covering cap is produced from flexible elastic plastic and projections (30) are arranged on the inside of the covering cap or on the outside of the screw cap which produce a prestress between caps. <IMAGE>

Description

The invention relates to a child-resistant push-twist lock with the features mentioned in the preamble of claim 1. Such a closure is known from DE-PS 25 50 538. Such a closure can easily be screwed onto bottles by hand or by capping machines. When screwing certain areas of projections or depressions lie against each other so that the screw cap is carried by the overcap. These surfaces are arranged in axial planes or approximately in axial planes. Other surfaces of the projections or depressions, on the other hand, are inclined surfaces. When unscrewing, these inclined surfaces have the effect that an overcap which is only slightly pressed against the screw cap performs a ratchet movement, so that a tight screw cap is not carried along. The screw cap can only be taken along if a considerable axial force is exerted that a small child cannot exert.

In the closures according to the prior art, the overcap is held captively on the screw cap. It is necessarily axially movable a certain piece, so that the projections or projections and recesses can engage and disengage. The limited freedom of movement of the overcap on the screw cap can lead to rattling, which is occasionally perceived as annoying.

The present invention is intended to design a child-proof pressure-twist lock of the type mentioned at the outset such that the overcap is no longer loosely seated on the screw cap, but nevertheless the childproof lock is retained. This object is achieved according to claim 1. (Reference is made to the wording of the claims below).

Because the projections are distributed over the circumference of one of the caps and the overcap is flexible, the attached overcap is deformed somewhat so that its originally circular cross section slightly approaches a polygon. The overcap is then pre-tensioned on the screw cap and unwanted rattling is prevented.

It is important that the axial frictional force caused by the projections remains small compared to the axial force that has to be exerted to open it so that the childproof lock is not impaired.

The invention also has the advantage that relatively large tolerances are permissible with respect to the peripheral walls of the screw cap and overcap and the radial height of the projections. They are made harmless by the deformation of the overcap.

Weiterbildungen der ErfindungDevelopments of the invention

A design of the projections according to claims 2 enables good demolding after the cap has been sprayed. The tapering of the ribs makes it easier to insert one cap into the other.

According to claim 3, three ribs are advantageously used and no longer. This results in freely flexible cylinder shells with a cap of 120 ° between two ribs. On the one hand, this allows larger tolerances to be bridged, while on the other hand the radial forces that occur remain small.

It should be mentioned that an arrangement with only two projections or ribs, which lie opposite one another, is avoided, since then the overcap, which contains both ribs, can dodge, that is, rattle again.

The invention is explained in more detail with the aid of the drawing.

Figure 1 shows the overcap, left in axial section, right in side view.
Figure 2 shows half of an inside view of the overcap.
Figure 3 shows the inner cap, left in axial section, right in side view.
  • Figur 4 ist eine Draufsicht auf die Schraubkappe.Figure 4 is a top view of the screw cap.

The screw cap 1 has an internal thread 3 for screwing onto a bottle. Six approximately radially directed, rib-shaped projections 7 are provided on its end face 5. These projections have flanks 9 and 10 which are parallel to one another and lie in axially parallel or axial planes.

The overcap 14 has on its inner end face 16 six projections 18 with flanks 20 and 21. While the flanks 20 lie in axially parallel or axial planes, the flanks 21 have an inclination with respect to the end face 16 which is between 30 and 60 ° , in particular approximately Is 45 °. The overcap 14 has an annular bead 24 on its inside near its opening, while the screw cap has an annular bead 26 on its outside, which is arranged at some distance from the open end of the screw cap. After inserting the screw cap into the overcap, both can move axially against each other. In one extreme position, the projections 7 of the screw cap touch the end face 16 of the overcap, in the other extreme position both annular beads 24, 26 touch.

On the inner wall of the overcap 14, three projections 30 in the form of ribs are arranged, evenly distributed over the circumference thereof, which, in order to enable easy demolding, run parallel to the axis of the cap. In the case of a cylindrical outer wall 32 of the screw cap, the backs 34 of the rib-shaped projections 30 run axially parallel over most of their length and thus touch the outer wall of the screw cap in this area. The free end 36 of the projections 30 tapers in that it extends in an arc against the inner wall 38 of the overcap. This makes it easier to insert the screw cap into the overcap.

An imaginary circular cylinder, which contacts the back 34 of the three projections 30, has a smaller diameter than the outer wall 32 of the screw cap. This means that the overcap 14, which is made of flexible material, deforms after being placed on the screw cap 1, which is made of much more rigid material, and thus rests under a certain prestress on the outer wall of the screw cap. The size ratios are such that the axial frictional force created by the preload is sufficient to prevent rattling, but is considerably smaller than the axial force that has to be transferred from the overcap to unscrew the screw cap.
