Abstract
1,227,865. Ionization manometers. PHILIPS ELECTRONIC & ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES Ltd. 18 April, 1968 [21 April, 1967], No. 18417/68. Heading HID. Ionization manometer apparatus comprises an ionization manometer including a cathode 5 separated from a collector wire 15 by a substantially cylindrical anode grid 6 the open ends of which are screened by further grids 10, and electrical circuit means arranged to supply a negative-going voltage varying relative to the anode voltage to at least one of the further grids 10. The modulation grids 10 consist of molybdenum wires mounted in molybdenum rings. Two cathodes 5 are provided. The tube is otherwise as described in Specification 982,406. The apparatus provides a higher modulation factor than a prior arrangement in which a modulator wire was arranged inside the anode grid 6.
