Abstract

121,834. Rasch, L. Jan. 15, 1918. Driving, suspending, and balancing.- The body 2 of the centrifugal machine is supported on the pointed end 4 of the spindle 3 and is driven by means of a coil spring 5, the ends of which are fixed to the body and the spindle respectively. The end of the spindle and the spring are housed in a conical hollow member 1, which serves as a seat for the drum 2 and is closed by a screw plug 8. The enlargement 6 on the spindle and the projection 10 on the plug 8 are so shaped that the coils of the spring 5, when tightened, tend to draw the parts together.
