Magneto-electric machines; magnetos, driving.-A magneto generator for energizing a train-carried coil interacting with track magnets for signalling on and controlling trains, comprises permanent magnets 13 on a disc 12 which is freely mounted upon a driven shaft 11 and connected thereto by a spiral spring 14 so that at low speeds the magnets momentarily stop opposite the pole pieces 9 carrying coils 10 until the spring moves them sharply away.
