Magnetic speed indicators.-In apparatus of the eddy-current type, the permanent magnets 9 are mounted in a non-magnetic disk 2 carried by the driving-shaft 1, and the poles are arranged in a circle so that unlike poles are adjacent as shown in Fig. 2. The iron armature 4 consists of a ring or plate 4 adjustably secured to the ring 2 by screws 3 so that the distance between the plates can be varied. The conducting - plate 5 is mounted between the plates 2, 4, and turns against the influence of a spring 7.
