Magnetic speed indicators. - In an eddy-current instrument, the effects of temperature a r e minimized by the use of separate closing rings 8 shaped to correspond with the tapered poles of the horseshoe magnets 5, and loosely mounted in their holder 7 which is screwed to the rotated disk 4 carrying the magnets. The eddy disk 9 connected with the pointer 12 is corrugated as shown to conform with the shape of the magnet poles and the rings.
