Abstract
235,022. Higginson, J. July 8, 1924. Electric and magnetic speed indicators.-In an eddy-current speed indicator, two annular magnets a, b, separated by a spacer d and having their pole gaps at opposite points are mounted on a carrier c which rotates on a fixed spindle h and is driven by gearing e, f. A graduated armature k partially surrounding the drag element j is axially movable for the purpose of adjusting the instrument. It may be adjusted automatically according to temperature conditions. The drag element i is restrained by an adjustable spring s and a stop pin determines its zero position. According to the Provisional Specification the armature k may be gapped. Mileage counters are provided.
