373,537. Motors. KIENZLE TAXAMETER UND APPARATE AKT.-GES., Villingen, Schwarzwald, Germany. Nov.4, 1931, No. 30580. Convention date, Nov. 5, 1930. Addition to 340,740. Drawings to Specification. [Class 35.] Machines with two armatures; rotary machines. -In the motor described in the parent Specification comprising a synchronous rotor and an asynchronous rotor operating respectively in a non-rotating alternating field and a rotary field, magnetic shunt paths are provided between the poles of the permanent magnet rotor to prevent demagnetization. The shunts may consist of soft iron plugs inserted between the poles, or pins carried by a disc concentric with the rotor projecting into the gaps between the poles. In another form, a dished disc of soft iron is held with its rim against the magnet poles ; such a disc may be applied to both sides of the rotor. In a further modification, a soft iron ring surrounds the poles, a non- magnetic ring being interposed if desired.
