Abstract

529,621. Magnetos. MAGNETOS LUCIFER SOC. ANON. June 5, 1939, No. 16443. Convention date, Sept. 2, 1938. [Class 35] In a magneto of the type having a laminated armature with poles extending radially outwards one of the laminations is extended to embrace the magnet poles so as to admit flux from both faces thereof. Fig. 1 shows a rotating magnet 2 furnished with pole pieces 4 which are embraced in the manner shown by an extension of the lowest lamination 7 of the armature 1. The outermost portion of lamination may be separate and attached to the machine casing, but in close contact with the remainder of the lamination. If the magnet pole-pieces do not extend over the whole length of the armature the extended lamination need only be bent once.
