Abstract
146,921. Tournayre, J. H. June 28, 1919, [Convention date]. Inductor - alternators. - A multi-polar magneto comprises a rotating inductor, a stationary multi-polar field-magnet, and stationary armature windings arranged at right-angles to the neutral planes of the field-magnet. In the construction shown in Fig. 1, four pole-pieces are attached to permanent magnets in the form of arcs with similar poles N, S adjacent. The pole-pieces are formed with recesses in which are placed the ends of the armature coils f<1> - - f<4>. A permanently magnetized ring having consequent poles may be substituted for the arc-shaped magnets. The rotor is formed with four prongs. The frequency of the current induced in the winding will be equal to the product of the number of pole-pieces and the number of revolutions per second of the rotor.
