Abstract
354,406. Motors. ZETSCHE, J., 11, Grabenstrasse, Hamburg, Germany, and ROSS, J. SINCLAIR-, 1, Morpeth Terrace, London. May 13, 1930, No. 14712. [Class 35.] Rotary machines; cores; driving arrangements; machines with two or more armatures.-In an electric motor having the ends of the rotor and stator cores magnetically connected together as in Specifications 327,249 and 328,722, [both in Class 35, Dynamoelectric generators &c.], the stator element is constructed so as to provide in a single structure a completely closed circuit for the magnetic flux produced by the stator coils so that a separate iron pole-ring is unnecessary. The rotor coils 8 connected to a commutator 14 are wound on cores 9 mounted on a disc 10 of magnetic material. The ends of the cores are interconnected by an iron ring 21. The cores 2 of the stator coils are held in laminations 3 as shown in Figs. 2 and 4, so that the magnetic circuit is closed through portions 20 which act also as an exterior armouring for the coils 1. Both elements may rotate in opposite directions, and the speed of one may be controlled by braking the other. In the case of machines having two magnet systems as in Specification 328,722, the top and bottom field elements are constructed with similar laminations.
