Abstract

1,001,543. A.C. motors. W. KOHLAGEN. Nov. 2, 1961, No. 39332/61. Heading H2A. [Also in Division B3] A synchronous electric motor stator field structure comprises two axially spaced magnetic field plates 14, 16 having interdigitated poles 18, 20 whose co-ordination is fixed by magnetic connector arms 36 which permanently unite the plates and form auxiliary flux paths which include a portion 40 which becomes flux saturated upon energization of the field coil 8 so as to prevent the arms short-circuiting the main field between the poles. The arms may, as shown, be integral with the two plates but of reduced cross-section, or they may be separated from one of the plates and then secured thereto by staking or welding. The rotor 6 is a permanent magnet which drives a gear 32 and rotated on an either stationary or rotary shaft 30.
