Abstract
888,462. Electric motors. FERRANTI Ltd. April 8, 1958 [April 9, 1957], No. 11471/57. Class 35. In a step-by-step motor having interdigitated rotor poles excited by a permanent magnet, alternate stator poles c are shaded by means of a laminated copper shading-ring d, the unshaded poles h projecting from a disc e,f lying under the shading-ring and being a press-fit in the magnetic housing a. The stator is completed by a second dish-shaped housing (not shown) interfitting with housing a and having similar poles projecting in the opposite direction. The poles may be radially instead of cylindrically arranged, and may be irregularly spaced.
