[Class 35.] Alternating- current motors; cores. - In an alternating-current commutator motor of the type described in Specification 25358/11, [Class 35, Dynamo - electric generators &c.], and provided with a closed commutator winding c occupying only a portion of the rotor core length, and having its end connections d located in the air-gap e between the two portions of the rotor core, the stator core s is provided with an air gap t opposite the air gap in the rotor core. The stator portions may be magnetically separated by nonmagnetic material inserted between the stampings and stator keys, and the rotor stampings may also be separated from the shaft or rotor spider by insertion of non- magnetic material. The closed winding may be connected to the commutator by high-resistance connections.
