Abstract

120,952. Holley Bros. Co., (Holley, G. M.). Nov. 22, 1917. Vaporizers, external.-A nozzle K, Fig. 3, may be put into communication with either of two float chambers C, Fig. 2, and delivers fuel into air which is admitted through the annular space 0, the mixture formed passing through a pipe F, which is coiled round the exhaust passage, to the induction pipe B through a lateral opening in a removable choketube I below the throttle valve. The bulk of the air to form the mixture is admitted past a hand-controlled valve and a suction-actuated sleeve S sliding over prongs T. The nozzle K is controlled by a conical gravity valve L provided with a slow-running passage N; the lift of the valve is limited by splitting and expanding the lower end of its stem M. The inner wall of the exhaust passage in which the coil F is located is slidable in order to vary the number of coils exposed to, and therefore the heating effect of, the exhaust gases.
