Abstract

1,208,170. Selective printing. ING. C. OLIVETTI & C. S.p.A. 31 July, 1968 [6 Sept., 1967], No. 36596/68. Heading B6F. An adding-listing machine comprises a platen 2, a series of type-wheels 14 and a movable concentric paper guide 18 in which bail rollers 24 are rotatably mounted, the paper guide 18 extending upwardly in front (the rear of the drawing) of the platen to a serrated paper tear-off edge 26 with an intermediate serrationfree part 27 used to manually depress the guide so that a paper may be inserted between the guide and the platen. The guide 18 has an aperture 25 through which the type wheels 14 effect printing, and is pivotally and slidably mounted in fixed side members 5. In operation the rotation of a shaft 13, via mechanism 13, 10, 7, lever 6 and shaft 3, urges the platen 2 against the type-wheels to effect printing. The shaft 3 also pulls the guide 18 forwardly.
