Abstract
1,210,901. Selective printing. ING. C. OLIVETTI & C. S.p.A. 1 Jan., 1969 [29 Jan., 1968], No. 142/69. Heading B6F. A pin wheel paper feed device for an accounting or like machine having a movable type carriage comprises a pin wheel 23 keyed to a drive shaft 18 for rotation therewith and axial sliding therealong, the pin wheel 23 being enclosed in a casing 27 comprising an upper member including a cover 28 and a rearwardly extending plate 31, and a lower member 38, the upper and lower members being biased one towards the other to grip a fixed transverse bar 32 to locate the casing 27 and wheel 23 with respect to the shaft 18. The plate 31 is formed with a rounded protuberance 49, and the lower member 38 with a projection 48, for engagement with the bar 32. The upper and lower members are pivoted to one another at 39, the projections 49, 48 being biased together by a compression spring 52. Continuous stationery is fed between the casing 27 and a cover plate 58 pivoted to the casing 27 at 62 and 63. A spring 72 normally biases the cover plate 58 to a closed position, and on opening the cover plate, passes over-centre to hold the cover plate in an open position. Paper guides (80), Fig. 1 (not shown), are located between pairs of pin wheel feed devices, the guides (80) being slidable along the bar 32.
