A letter plate comprises a frame 10 with an opening normally closed by a flap 14 urged by springs 22 and secured on a pivot spindle 15 at the frame rear, arriving rearwardly and carrying a roller 18 at its free edge which co-operates in the closed position with a roller 19 carried by the frame on a flange 17.
