Web-feeding; guiding arrangements; multiple web arrangements.-A continuous stationery feeding mechanism for a tabulator comprises a movable framework 6, Fig. 1, mounted on a trolley (not shown), a set of telescopic plate arms 7, 8, 11, mounted on the framework and a pair of side plates 1 mounted pivotally on the ends of arms 7 and supporting pin-feed tractors 2a, 2b, 2c and 2d. The telescopic arms comprise a first pair of platelike arms 7, Fig. 3, riding in a U-shaped second pair of plate arms 8, on a ball-bearing surface 9, the arms 8 being in turn slidably mounted on a ball-bearing support 10 in a U-shaped third pair of plate arms 11. A catch 12, Fig. 1, mounted on the arms 11 latches in front of a cross shaft 13 on the arms 8, when they are in the retracted position, the cross shaft 13 also engaging an adjustable stop 14 to urge the arms 7 into extended position during awkward movement of the telescopic arms and a catch 15 latches behind the stop 14 when the arms 7 are in the extended position to retain the telescopic arms extended. The pair of plates 1, including a first pair of pin-feed tractors 2a, 2b for feeding the stationery to and from a platen 3 at one speed and a second pair of pin-feed tractors 2c, 2d, for feeding the stationery to and from the platen at a lower speed, are pivotable from an inoperative to an operative position, in the latter of which, a driving gear (not shown) on the side plates meshes with a gear 16, which drives the platen. Also a stop 18 on the side plates 1 co-operates with a stop 19 on the tabulator supports to locate the mechanism in its operative position. To prevent too quick a pivotal movement of the feed mechanism from the inoperative to operative position or vice versa, a dash-pot 23 (Fig. 4, not shown), is provided on the end of arms 7 and mounted on a shaft 24 carrying a lever 25 with a recess 26 in which a cross-bar 27 is mounted with lost-motion. Carbon paper mechanism.-A detachable carbon web unit 20, Fig. 1, is pivotally mounted on the end of telescopic arms 7, 8, 11 of a stationery feeding mechanism mounted on a trolley.
