A cooling and ventilating system for a room comprises a main duct 10 which delivers cooled air through a duct 8, having a nozzle outlet 13, to a closed ceiling space 3 including guide walls 6 and an outlet 9 to the room. The space 3 is formed by sub-ceilings 4, 5 made of plasterboard, and thermal insulation 7 may be provided. A heat exchanger 12 is provided. An opening 14 in a guide wall 6 permits recirculation of air by the ejector effect of the nozzle 13. Each duct 8 is connected to the same duct 10 and outlets 9 may be in the same or different rooms.
