Abstract
578,850. Ventilating rooms &c. CAUCHANER, D. Oct. 30, 1943, No. 17967. [Class 137] Rooms or other enclosures formed by hollow walls C are heated or cooled by the admission of conditioned air into the upper part of the hollow space D through a duct B, the lower part of the space communicating with the room through a valve F. A duct E at the upper part of the room opposite to the side at which air is supplied to space D communicates through a plug valve L with the outer air. The face of the wall bricks open to space D is left porous to facilitate rapid heat exchange with the admitted air. In operation, air is first admitted to space D with both valves closed; the heating or cooling effect of the wall space is then increased or decreased by opening valve F or duct E.
