Abstract

409,652. Ventilation. WACHTER, S., 171, Thiersteiner Rain, Basle, Switzerland. July 29, 1932, No. 21363. Void [Abridged as open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, Aug. 2, 1932]. [Class 137.] In a ventilating system, dry outgoing air is cooled and then utilized to cool and dehumidify warm humid air entering the building. Relatively dry vitiated air withdrawn from a room q enters a chamber b where it is cooled to its dew point temperature and then passes to the outer atmosphere by way of one passage d of a heat exchanger. The other passage l is separated therefrom by a thin porous wall e. Entering fresh humid air from outside is cooled to its dew-point temperature in a chamber j and then enters the passage l of the heat exchanger where it is further cooled by the cold outgoing air and deposits moisture on the porous wall e. This moisture is absorbed by the outgoing air which is gradually warmed in its passage through the exchanger. The entering air may be further cooled in a chamber o.
