Abstract

1,207,137. Suction cleaning apparatus. LUWA A.G. 12 Dec., 1967 [15 Dec., 1966], No. 56379/67. Heading F4X. A transportable suction cleaning device for textile looms comprises a housing 10 supported on rollers 20 and incorporating retractable shielding walls 82, 84 to direct the dust &c. removed from the loom A by compressed air from a nozzle 56 towards the inlet apertures 26 of two suction ducts 30. An impeller 32 driven by a motor 34 is provided in each duct 30 to induce the entrained dust therethrough, said dust being deposited in a filter bag 36 of airpermeable material attached to the end of the duct 30. The shielding walls 82, 84 which are constructed from flexible material preferably plastics foils are suspended from carrier rails (70, 72, Fig. 2) and when not in use are slidably retracted into channels (66, 68) to lie adjacent the longitudinal sides (14, Fig. 2) of the housing 10. U-shaped push bars 94 are provided to facilitate transportation. Air is supplied to the nozzle 56 through a flexible tube 54 which is connected via an air duct 48 to a horizontal duct (38, Fig. 2) housing a compressed air blower. The cleaning device may additionally be provided with a covering element (100, Fig. 4) situated above the loom A and hingeably attached to the top of the housing and supported on the shielding walls.
