Abstract

117,356. Walthew, J. G., and Williams, H. A. W. Oct. 8, 1917. Cylinders receiving liquid fuel.-A light fuel is supplied to the engine at starting and during light loads to ensure ignition by admitting the light fuel to the suction pipe 14 of the heavy fuel pump 8 from a tank 7. The light fuel falls into a funnel 18 on a stand pipe 16 which receives the overflow from the governor-controlled by-pass 10. The light fuel is controlled by a cock 20 worked by hand or by the governor and having two bores of different diameter at right-angles to each other.
