493,824. Ignition timing. TUGWOOD, R. J. (Daimler-Benz Akt.-Ges.) March 21, 1938, No. 8639. [Class 7 (iv)] Engine-generated liquid pressure, such as that of the lubricating-oil or cooling-water systems, controls the position of the ignitiontiming lever 6. Oil pressure from the pump 2 acting through the conduit 13 and piston 8<1> causes the lever 6 to move to its extreme advanced position I. Further opening of the throttle 7 causes the cam 19 to rock the valvelever 16 thereby completing the byepass 14 through the valve 15 for the oil. The piston 8<1> and the timing-lever 6 thereupon move to the position II suitable for running under load.
