Draught, dust, and weather excluders.-In a weather strip comprising a hinged flap which is normally closed by springs and raised by a chain &c. connected with the door handle, means are provided for automatically holding the flap in the raised position when the door is open and allowing it to fall when the door is closed. A link 17 pivoted at 18 to the flap 6 is provided with a right-angled slot 19, 21, which rides on a pin 20. When the door is open, the pin 20 engages with the part 21 of the slot, and the flap is held in the raised position, but on closing the door, the upper end of the link 17 engages with a latch or bolt 22 in the door frame, so as to disengage the part 21 of the slot from the pin 20 and allow the flap to be depressed by its springs. The latch or bolt 22 is mounted in a slotted casing in such a manner that it may occupy the horizontal position shown or allowed to fall into a vertical position, in which position it fails to engage with the link 17, and the flap remains constantly in the raised position.
