Abstract

1,135,152. Furnace walls. LEE WILSON ENG. CO. Inc. 20 March, 1967 [24 May, 1966], No. 12946/67. Heading F4B. A vertical furnace wall structure comprises a plurality of refractory lining bricks 2 attached to a metal outer shell W via U-shaped retainer pins R which are held in position by pairs P of horizontal support bars 1. Self-locking washers 5 attached to the arms 4 of each pin R hold the lining bricks firmly against the support bars 1 which in turn are secured by welding at spaced-apart recesses 1a to the metal shell W. The base 3 of the retainer pin R is disposed between the shell W and the bars 1. The above construction may be also used in roof or inclined wall structures.
