Abstract

1,132,816. Valve bags. G. YAMAGUCHI. 22 Sept., 1967 [22 Sept., 1966], No. 43197/67. Heading B8K. A valve tube 5 of thermoplastic sheet returns to the folded configuration illustrated whenever it is not distended by the filling pressure. The valve tube is stiffened by welds 8, 9, and its folds are formed by heating the thermoplastic material, and quenching it while folded. Holes 21 permit exhaust of air. The valve may be incorporated anywhere in the seam 29 of the bag, or may be welded to an aperture cut in the folded edge 1 of the bag or at an obliquely cut corner. Nitrocellulose dyestuff diluted with alcohol may be used to prevent the walls of the valve tube being welded together during manufacture of the bag.
