Abstract

1,056,373. Block-bottom valve bags. PSG PLASTIK-SACK G.m.b.H. Feb. 26, 1965, No. 8341/65. Heading B8K. A plastics base sheet 2, Fig. 1 (not shown), and an inner sheet 5 are welded at 9, Fig. 3 (not shown), to non-overlapping base flaps 1 of a plastics block bottom bag, and have staggered slits 6 and 8 forming a valve. The edge of the outer slit 6 may be reinforced by welding the material 7 cut out of the slit 6 to the base sheet 2. The sheet 2 is the width of the final bottom, while the inner sheet 5 is the width of the sheet 2 plug the width of the two base flaps. The outer base sheet, Fig.4 (not shown), can also take the form of a plastics tube; 2<SP>1</SP> 2<SP>11</SP>, the valve comprising three staggered slits 6, 10, 8. The air trapped in the bagafter filling escapes through holes 12 in the sheet 5. The base sheets are welded together as in Fig. 4 (not shown) at the sides of the slits.
