Abstract

946,617. Valve bags. METAL BOX CO. Ltd. May 23, 1962 [Sept. 14, 1961], No. 33052/61. Heading B8K. A filling aperture 4 for a bag of thermoplastic material is covered by an internal valve sheet 12, secured to the wall of the bag at 10, 11 and terminating in a flap 8. The bag may be heat sealed or, alternatively, formed of gussetted tubular material. The valve sheet 12 may be embossed to provide passages to permit air to escape from the sack. The circular aperture 4 illustrated may be replaced by a slit which may be curved.
