Abstract
1,104,175. Matching impedances. A. C. COSSOR Ltd. 23 March, 1966 [15 April, 1965], No. 16351/65. Heading H1W. A coaxial to waveguide transformer comprises an enlargement 16<SP>1</SP> of the inner conductor of the coaxial line in the neighbourhood of the junction. The invention is shown as applied to a rotating joint, the inner conductor 12 being rotatably mounted in a block 20 attached to a broad face of the waveguide 10. The enlargement 16<SP>1 </SP>may be attached either to the inner conductor 12 or to a stepped transforming ramp or ridge 23. Matching is improved by the provision of a cavity 13 which may have an adjustable end wall 14. The cavity may be broader than the waveguide.
