Abstract

999,545. Electric cables, waveguides matching transmission line impedances. HACKETHALDRAHT-UND KABEL-WERKE A.G. April 24, 1963 [April 27, 1962], No. 16147/63. Headings H1A and H1W. A high frequency line comprises a metal screen enclosing at least two cores each of which is surrounded by a dielectric material of different properties so that on applying an alternating voltage to one end between the cores and the screen, the propagation velocity of both cores is such that the output voltages at the other end of the line have a phase difference which is a multiple of #. A pair of cores, each of which is covered by dielectric material such as that known under the Registered Trade Mark " Polythene," may be entirely enclosed in a metallic screen or may each have, surrounding the dielectric covering, a metal sheath connected to a common metal screen. For lines having more than two cores, the cores may be arranged parallel to each other either in a plane or in circular formation.
