570,136. High-frequency lines. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd. March 10, 1941, No. 3200. Convention date, March 8, 1940. [Class 40 (iv)] [Also in Groups XXXVI and XL] A high - frequency transmission line particularly for conveying a high-frequency wave covering a wide range of frequencies between two points a considerable distance apart, and comprising a pair of conductors having inherent electrical discontinuities along the length thereof, is so arranged that successive portions of the line between adjacent discontinuities have electrical characteristics differing in logarithmic relation. In a coaxial line comprising conductors 10, 11 a number of similar insulators 14 may be spaced apart longitudinally at distances which increase in constant ratio; or insulators of successively increasing thickness may be equally spaced ; or similar insulators may be equally spaced and one of the conductors may increase in cross-section between the successive insulators.
